The Sunshine Bloggers Award

Last week it came to me as a sweet surprise when one of my fellow blogger   Sonia nominated me for the Sunshine Bloggers award , I definitely started this blog with the motive of spreading awareness and lil sunshine in all mommies life, but Life or my Karma would reward me so soon never thought of , hope to keep the good work and bring sunshine to all mommies and one who is trying to get the crown of motherhood.

The Sunshine Bloggers Award is given to those who are creative, optimistic and inspiring , while spreading sunshine to blogger community.

Sonia is a lovely blogger from land of rich culture, literature  and heritage, Bengal.She writes reviews of books, movies and restaurants ,she also shares her personal experiences and  opinion on life and travel trips.

Woman of substance.

Where are you from? what is the best thing about the place?

I am from Land of temples , Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, soul of Incredible India.The best thing of a place has to be one but Orissa has few things for it’ s International credit , it’s sambalpuri handloom sarees, Odissi dance , temples flaunting their incredible and exquisite architecture. The most famed one is Sun temple also known as “Black Pagoda” or” Konark temple.”

What is the fondest memory of your childhood?

The fondest memory that I have is when my  Dad use to play with us and tell us beautiful stories though not necessarily bedtime stories but when ever he was free or relaxed especially the most cherished one was when electricity went out , me and my sisters got a lovely chance to close our books and pester him for stories….loved those moments …He was a great story teller.

Who is your role model and why?

My mother whom I cherish , admire and love the most.She is highly educated woman with double masters degree in Economics and is a passionate cook . I look forwad to her for perfectionist attitude, she embraces life with smile both in joy and sorrow. A kind hearted lady always there to offer  helping hand to the needy.

Do you believe that gender stereotyping exists? You can cite examples to prove your point.

Yes , it’s very much prevalent , atleast in India still the woman are expected to be shy , within boundaries , do household chores , wear respectable  dresses on other hand men can do anything they want. Though with education the thought process has changed but still prevalent.

Which is your favorite movie and why?

I like both Bollywood as well as Hollywood movies.The inclination is more towards Hollywood movies and list is long but one which is little close to my heart is “Dirty Dancing” a romantic movie with beautiful choreography and soundtracks. To name a few soundtracks of the movie “Time of my life”,” hungry eyes”  and she’s like the wind.It’s my favourite as this was the first movie that me and my husband watched it as a couple .

What is your favorite book and why?

I am a spiritual seeker and had an deep impact when I read “Autobiography of a yogi” by Swami Yogananda . Basically this is not a book but a pathfinder that helps  you to navigate your journey from materialistic world to eternity. This book is dripping with love of God and tells you how  to evolve spiritually.

One advice that you would love to give to your fellow bloggers so that as to help them learn and improve.

I am myself an amateur blogger and slowly getting to know the nitty gritty of blogging world . What I have learnt in past three months is that  your content of the post should be informative and useful for your readers. Secondly you should know the art of marketing your content through social media.

What made you start blogging?

In this digital era wanted a digital space where in I could share my journey and help woman fighting silent battles for   motherhood .To provide helping hand to mommies with parenting advice and solutions to other issues while raising kids.

Do you believe in love? Why?

Yes , I very much do as it’s the only emotion that every life on earth understands and feels whether it’s animal , human or plants. The common language across all creatures making  life meaningful, beautiful and sustainable.

How would like to be remembered as when you are not around anymore?

A kind hearted, caring woman who always wore a smile on her face.
